Madiba by Alvin Dyers

Written as a tribute to Nelson Mandela using his clan name Madiba as the title. The song favours a Mbqanga feel with a slapdruk (Afrikaans for ‘lazy push’) favoured in Western Cape region. We based our performance on Wesley Street (2000) album which featured the notable Eddie Jooste on fretless bass guitar.

This high-quality backing track features all instruments and vocals except for the bass guitar. Engineered for total clarity, it allows you to perfect your “lock” with the drummer without competing with a pre-recorded bassline. Ideal for live session work, auditions, or building your portfolio of bass covers.
