Broadcast & Radio Ready
Broadcast & Radio Ready – Metadata and Loudness Standards
A master isn’t finished just because it sounds good. In the professional world of 2026, your files must meet strict technical specifications for broadcast (SABC, radio, TV) and digital distribution. Without proper ISRC codes and loudness compliance, your track might be rejected by stations or, worse, you could miss out on royalty payments.
We ensure your music is technically “bulletproof” before it hits the airwaves.
1. Loudness Compliance (LUFS & LKFS)
In 2026, the “Loudness Wars” are over. Platforms now use Loudness Normalization. If your track is too loud, Spotify or Radio stations will simply turn it down, often making it sound “flat” and distorted.
-
The Standard: We master to the specific Integrated Loudness targets—typically -14 LUFS for streaming and -23 LUFS (EBU R128) for broadcast.
-
The Result: Your track stays punchy and competitive without being “crushed” by automated platform limiters.
2. ISRC & Metadata Embedding
The International Standard Recording Code (ISRC) is a unique digital fingerprint for your song.
-
The Goal: To ensure every time your song is played on the radio or a stream, the data is tracked back to you for royalty collection.
-
The Choice: We embed your ISRC codes directly into the file’s metadata, along with song titles and artist names, ensuring the file is “broadcast-ready” the moment it leaves our studio.
3. True Peak Limiting
Digital “clips” (distortion) can occur even if your meters say you’re below $0\text{ dB}$. This is called an “inter-sample peak.”
-
The Goal: To prevent distortion when your music is converted to MP3 or AAC for streaming.
-
The Choice: We use True Peak Limiting (usually set to $-1.0\text{ dBTP}$) to ensure your audio remains crystal clear even after data compression.
